Sweden August / September 2006
I have only just realised how little I have traveled this year. I have really missed it and know that I must pick up the pace again. There is much to done to see God move in power in Europe and although my little may be little, nonetheless I must contribute what I can.

Considering how soon after the Terrorist threat I was traveling, there seemed to be no undue delays or business at Heathrow. The only evidence was the rather pathetic collection of lipsticks aerosols and water bottles as we entered departures. It was shoes and belts off of course! And so on to the plane with no undue delays. Arrived in good time, only to be greeted with a comedy of errors on the tarmac. The steps jammed 4 feet below the front door. We sat for a good 20 minutes while they tried to fix the problem. Eventually they brought out a second set and we disembarked by the rear doors. The delay did cause me a slight panic as the minutes ticked by in the crowded baggage hall. In the end I had a good 15 minutes to spare for the train.
The comedy continued as I found that my carefully booked "Fonster plats med bord" had been sold again to an English woman. Therefore laptop on lap I began my journal. Barely "£30 for a First Class seawouldn'tldn't get that from London to Manchester!
Sunday
Memories of "Groundhog Day" prayer in East Germany were rekindled as we met with leaders at 10.30 ready for a full church meeting at 12,00 followed by lunch at 3.00, another meeting at 4.00 and further at 6.00 followed immediately by prayer on the outcrop overlooking Goteborg.
That apart the morning was excellent. Martin spoke on the obstacles to us fulfilling our destiny - comparison; jealousy; fear, etc In particufocusedocussed on recognising and using that which God has placed in your hand. So what is it that God has given you ( 'There is nothing in the house except a little oil' ).
He made reference to opening the windows of heaven over Sweden. That afternoon we had the most torrential downpour I have ever known. The roads were flooded. Downpipes were spraying out the water from joints. Driving was more like being in a boat, the amount of spray was amazing.
The evening meeting mentioned arrows across Sweden and it turned out that an international archery competition was being hosted in Goteborg. It reminded me of Christer's painting of the archer that I use on www.inthemiddle.me.uk
Travelled the 75 km to Boras to sleep.
Over a late dinner Martin told us about a phone call he had on the way down in the car. A certain gentleman who had been at the evening meeting and then prayed on the hill, had called him. He was offering an masseuse appointment during the week. It was with a good looking young lady who was holy. Martin said the offer was a attractive but that he would decline. The guy apparently said, I,m glad you said attractive not tempting.

A relaxed breakfast and a chance to write up my journal. On the internetdeclaredws delared - Skyfall over Gothenburg! - The rain had been so heavy that emergency services were called out to deal with houses being flooded.
We went to a hill overlooking the town to pray later in the morning and then into the town to pray at a Lutheran Church and outside the Town Hall. Having had little rain all morning, as we stood on the hill, the heavens opened again. More torrential rain, not as bad, but significant. As we ended our prayers, the rain stopped and as I type this up at 2.30 the sun is out.
